Waiting

My kids have to do a lot of waiting. I do my share of waiting, too. It's just how it goes when we share each other's attention with so many other people and things. Lately this is what their waiting looks like.
J waits daily for the mail to arrive. School starts in seven days and the school's letter with his teacher's name is supposed to arrive any day.
A descends each day at some point (and sometimes at several different points) in her dance apparel. And then she has to wait for me to find the right music. Today it was Michael Buble, but yesterday she chose the celtic station on iTunes.
E asks each day if today is the day we're going camping. Almost everyday we count out the days until he knows how long he has to wait to go again. He will be my most prepared camper with his guitar-shaped flyswatter (a souvenir from one of our trips to music festivals) and his memo pad in which he records our activities in real time.

I don't know why Liz...but your daily glimpses always give me a lift. I hope that letter comes soon!
