We are living it up this school year by making sure that our schedule doesn't run away from us or separate us.
Piles of books for read aloud, preschool group fun, outings, art projects involving toilet paper tubes: those are the main staples of our time consumption.
This school year won't be guided by any fancy parenting theories or any particular preschool approach. I'm just letting them enjoy the novelty of having a constant companion while we adventure and observe and enjoy family-centered learning.
Four out of seven days another adult will take the lead and those times are meaningful. An hour and a half of primary (children's Sunday school), two hours with another mom as teacher on Monday, half hour of library time with the famous Miss Heather on Wednesday, and an hour of tumbling on Friday at the city rec center.
Perhaps this school year's objective is for them to enjoy learning together as twins, because next year that togetherness will include about twenty other people. Here's to our last year in this small world of theirs.
