It was a little eery today waiting for Superstorm Sandy to hit, but we stayed busy doing all of the following to take advantage of cancelled school and work.
Played with our new parakeet Parry. Timing couldn't have been better for his arrival last Friday.
Prayed for friends in the storm's path.
Talked to people on Skype.
Gave thanks for the warmth and dryness of our home.
Ran last minute loads of laundry and the dishwasher.
Watched an hour of Netflix media and fit in reading time.
Managed piano practice.
Fit in a playdate with equally cabin-crazy friends.
Ran a few errands for last minute Halloween costume things.
Baked six loaves of bread and two big batches of chili (for at least twenty hungry people for tomorrow night's trunk-or-treat).
Checked Facebook and Weather.com about two dozen times to check on friends. (Thanks for updating, Everyone!)
Tried not to think about the potential of damage to our NJ house.
Tried not to think about how this will surely bring down from the trees the rest of Charlottesville's beautiful autumn leaves.
Quizzed the kids on family trivia trivia for our family and wedding anniversary this week. (Yay! We've almost been married for eleven years!)
I'm hoping everyone stays safe out there in the Superstorm Sandy's reach.

Parry looks just like our Cheep! What creative names these kids come up with. :)
I hope your NJ home fares okay.
