It snowed.
We measure, stirred, baked, taste-tested and cooked: potato rolls, clam chowder, wreath cookies, toffee, green salad.
And then we enjoyed dinner and a Christmas Eve devotional with friends.
We watched "Longfellow's Christmas."
(It's only eight minutes long.)
My favorite part is at the very end:
"'Though in a manger Thou draw breath,
Thou art greater than life or death.'
And so He is!"
I love when the bells ring at the end.
And then we focused on Simeon's words in Luke 2:32 as we read Luke 2 one last time:
"For mine eyes have seen thy salvation. . . .A light to lighten the Gentiles and the glory of thy people Israel."
We enjoyed candlelit caroling and opened pajamas.
And some of us were apparently determined to make strange faces. In every single photo. Lovely.
We tracked Santa one last time, read a few more stories, and put kids to bed. I laid down on the living room floor as soon as the kids were settled.
And Dan apparently felt the same.
