The Weekend Holiday

I'm a week late documenting last weekend, which was too good to leave out of the history books.
Friday was Lee-Jackson Day
an annual holiday in Virginia honoring two of Virginia's most honorable sons
(Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.)
Cub Scout work towards Joshua's Bear badge:
A visit to the police station, a hike, a picnic, our family budget spreadsheet, researching parakeets, a salt dough map of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a pine wood derby car, no-bake cookies, library books about Charlottesville, a grocery shopping trip to compare prices, a family fire drill, and lot of other really fun things.
Saturday morning temple trip
UVA swim meet
Dan's talk in church: learning the doctrine changes our behavior as we see what we can become.
Erin's musical number of "O Divine Redeemer"
(I've never heard this number sung so prayerfully--it was beautiful. But that's what you get when a soprano who sings at the Met and all around the world lives in your ward!)
Slow Sunday evening
Fun Monday off of school with friends over to bake break, pizza, and cookies.
