Colorful Concert

Tonight was the third grade concert. I incorrectly assumed this wasn't a big deal. Today marks the day that I realized that J sees himself as a performer in every way. He had a speaking part, a singing part, and he had a little solo accompaniment part on the uke.

His music teacher Mrs. A has such unique style--she gives the students ownership to plan everything about their concerts. We are blessed to have such great resources available in our public school.The students wrote the narration, chose the songs, wrote lyrics for a few songs, played mallet instruments and ukuleles. She even taught the kids to scat for one song! I'm kicking myself that I didn't record "Here Comes the Sun" and "Blue Skies"--they were perfect.
