Snow today--hooray!

We were on our way to the library this morning when we glanced outside to see snowflakes, our first snowflakes in NJ. Joshua shouted "Yay, it's Christmas," begged for his coat, and was doing a little snow jig on the driveway when I emerged with my camera.

I remain skeptical about snow sticking around here--NJ weather has been almost identical to Central California weather. Back in September, one of our neighbors introduced himself as the guy who'd be around to plow the snow off the sidewalks in the winter--that's an easy reputation when it never actually snows enough for that to happen. Maybe I should start introducing myself as the gal who will clean the pine needles out of everyone's pool drain. Nobody has a pool and there aren't any long-needled pine trees in sight!

And by the way, I am of course kidding about my good neighbor--he's already proven his neighborliness in other ways.

Snow jig. That's a great phrase. If I were grading your paper, I'd say, "GREAT IMAGE" next to it.
