Winter day at the shore

In case you didn't know it, it's the "shore" here in New Jersery--not the beach, not the coast, the shore. Joshua still doesn't know what we're talking about when we say "shore" but he'll catch on.

Happy MLK Day! We headed to the coast--Belmar Beach is less than an hour away. We love being near the ocean, even if we're only there for a couple hours at a time. As you can see it was pretty cold, the beach was completely deserted, and no one was complaining. We felt quite at home--Northwest beaches are also pretty chilly every month besides July and August. Joshua (decked out in four layers on top, two on bottom, and his galoshes) couldn't have been happier pushing the wet sand around with his sand toys.

At least your "shore" has real waves, the only way to get waves on the sound is for a large ship to pass by or have a wicked windy day.We miss you all, it looks like that boy is growing up fast and making old people of us all.
Happy New Year to ya
