Happy Independence Day!

We hope you had a great Fourth of July. We didn't barbecue and we didn't attend a pancake breakfast, but we had a great time in NYC visiting Minda, our friend who generously invited us to see "her" city. (Thanks again, Minda! We had a great time!) It all started yesterday when Joshua and worked on my goal to be completely familiar with Central Park. I love that place. Here he is (after eating a blue popsicle) in front of the Turtle Pond--great place.

After the Turtle Pond, we visited Belvedere Castle and rambled through "The Ramble" and found our way to Henkscher Playground, the greatest kids' play area in the park. This summer the fountains are in full effect.

Dan joined us on Saturday and we enjoyed a ferry ride to Staten Island (passing by Lady Liberty), a brief trip to Coney Island (though we weren't there for the hotdog eating contest), and a great break in Washington Square Park. Not only is the architecture and kids' play area great, but we were surrounded by busquers playing away--jazz in one corner, percussion in another, a bass player to one side of me, and blues guitarists to another side of me. The Village was definitely my favorite part of the city today!

Don't ask me how I found your blog, and it has been a while...but we were in the same Freshman ward at BYU. I lived across the hall from Katie and Amy from Cali. My maiden name was Holman and I have red hair. Hope that rings a bell. Good to see your little family is doing well!

What a wonderful way to celebrate our country! I just love the animated expressions on Joshua. I can hardly believe these little boys have such unending enthusiasm (and energy) for life.

Hey Meg! I was your neighbor freshman year, Deneal Farr. Remember me? Hope life is good for you.
