Calling for all Camera Recommendations

Anyone love their digital camera so much that they want to recommend it? Anyone despise theirs so much that they want to warn me about it? Any other camera-buying advice for me?

It's been almost two months since my camera flipped out on me. I'm wasting time delaying this purchase. I'd love your help making a decison.

I have been happy with my Sony Handycam DCR-SR200 camera/camcorder. I like having the option of video or stills(4.0 mega pixels) wherever I go. Plus it records it all to a 40gb hard drive on the camera, so I don't run out of space. It's not perfect, but no camera is. There's my recommendation.

We have had a Canon Powershot which we liked and now have a Sony Cybershot that we LOVE! It has an internal memory that can hold a few pics so no more running out of room on the memory card. Also, the battery lasts FOREVER between charging. I think that if you go with a Canon, be sure to get the Elph or the SD series, to avoid going through nine million AA batteries. I don't think you can go wrong with a Sony or a Canon, just a couple of differences with the features. That's my bit...and I am looking forward to lots of good pictures of Joshua and the twins!!

We have a Nikon CoolPix 5200 and we have been really happy with it. The Doc likes the compactness of it, and it takes good pics as well.

I LOVE My Sony CyberShot T1- it is great. It is compact but has a 2.5 LCD screen. Tips for buying- get the most megapixels and the biggest viewing screen. You can get larger memory sticks if needed and a back-up battery, for just about any camera. I prefer the lithium battery, as oppose to regular batteries. I can recharge without having to buy more batteries and it is small enough to keep in the carrying case. The Sony Cybershot T7 is thinner but I think they have had problem with it because of the thinness.

We LOVE our Canon powershot. Ours is a couple of years old and my in-laws have the newer cooler version and also love it! There's has the bigger screen but it's a smaller camera too. What will they think of next?!?! Good luck!

I have been really impressed with my in-laws Canon Powershot A95 (I think). It may not be made anymore. It's small enough and takes photos that enlarge really nicely (at least when I look at them online). I think the price makes it nice too. We took years to decide and finally got a DSLR which is more pricy - we got the Canon Rebel XT. If you are into photography as more than a simple hobby, a DSLR is really fun and takes great photos.

You should ask James (I guess you kind of are). He was all into the research when we bought our camera. I like to take close up pictures of babies & stuff & wasn't too interested in video footage (although I do take some). I also wanted a camera with a good zoom. We have the Cannon Powershot & totally love it. It takes great pics. What are you looking for in a camera?
