First Day--Ya Think He's Ready?

7:00 a.m.: "I'm so excited I get to go to preschool! What time do I go?"
7:30 a.m.: "Can we please go early?"
8:00 a.m.: "Mom, you're taking too long in the shower!"
8:30 a.m.: "Can I please wake up the babies so we can put them in their carseats?"
9:00 am.: "Pictures? We don't have time for pictures! This is a 'nice' smile."

Maybe preschool should start at 7:00. At least for the first day.

I'll post his reports as they come. As of this morning at 9:15 he all revved up--he got a new lunch pack, he thinks his teacher is nice (because she wears pink), and he already has buddy in the class.

My hope for him this year is that he'll learn to love working and learning in a group. I was spoiled being a middle child--I had older "mentors" and younger "students". He hasn't been fortunate that way until now.

I gave him a little challenge to help someone else have fun today. And part of me hopes he cleans up, too.

How fun! I can't help but notice that his new lunch box is lightning mcqueen. Zach desperately wants to go to school, just so he can have a 'ka-chow' backpack. I hope that Joshua has a good day!

He looks so happy! I don't know how many kids have that kind of energy for school.

I wonder how many years that enthusiasm for school lasts in little kids. I'm glad he had a good first day of school!

Oh man...he is going to LOVE preschool! I can't wait to hear all the stories. I have no doubt he is going to help others. He has such a kind little heart.

I can't believe our kids are getting so grown up! He is too cute! Oh, and I think it's the preschool/kindergarten crowd that should be going to seminary...We're up in plenty of time every morning, while my neighbor has trouble getting her three seminary kids out of bed!

Wow!!!!! and Wow!!! for Mom. The first breakaway comes when the umbilical cord is cut. The second is when babies end nursing. The third, and this tends to be more dramatic, is when they go to school. Labor sometimes takes second to the pain of sending your kids off to school.
