Thankful for hot water

Just a quick "thankful for" post to celebrate this blessed month of November.

I am so grateful for hot water. This morning we discovered that the water heater pilot light had gone out and we couldn't get it to light. I ended up taking a very cold shower, and I was flooded with memories of showering in cold water for many winter months as a missionary. For awhile I irrationally feared the same fate of my missionary past.

Think with me of all the wonderful things hot water makes possible. The use of dishwashers, washing machines, preschool-germ fighting, and many more things I take for granted. D eventually figured out the problem, so tomorrow's shower will be warm, but today's little experience woke me up to the blessing of hot water heaters.

That J and his costumes-- hilarious! And it was fun to see how happy the twins were in the bath!

And clothes washers, I spent almost my whole time in Gaia washing my clothes in the bathtub!

We too love hot water. And yes laughter is the best medicine to counteract any motherhood stress. Looks like you have some little ones who enjoy making you laugh. They are so cute and fun to watch and read about!

What a great reminder at a perfect time of year when thankfulness is so strong all around. I'm glad the reminder didn't last long though! I got chills just thinking about a cold shower!

There is nothing I hate more than cold showers. I think I just might forgo cleanliness altogether. How did those pioneers do it?

Thanks for the reminder of all of the little blessings in our lives.
