Happy To Celebrate The . . . .

("first day of spring!") It snowed this morning for a couple hours, so I wasn't sure that Mother Nature had things right, but it is a beautifully crisp and clear New Jersey spring day presently.

If you're in a state with one (sorry, you west-coasters), rush to your local Rita's for some free water ice. J has anticipated this day with excitement and planning--he decided on Tuesday that he would choose cherry when the first day of spring finally arrived. I remember when mixing up a pitcher of Kool-aid was as exciting to me as choosing water ice is for him.
The twins even got a little taste of J's treat. I thought they'd be happy with a couple sponfulls each and the cleaned-out cup. I was wrong--tantrums (complete with head-banging and ugly crying) followed their first taste test.
Turns out they were just hungry. See? All better.

We have those in South Texas and San Antonio region they call them raspas. They are a great all year round treat when you live in a hot state. I am glad your snowy days will soon come to an end!

I guess I hadn't seen pictures of your twins yet. They are adorable and the oldest one looks like his Daddy. Congratulations! We miss seeing you here, feel free to come to Seattle

What a fun spring activity! I have never heard of Rita's but as it turns out there is one just 5 miles a way. If I don't get my free water ice next year I just might have to throw my own tantrum.

Hi L! Happy Spring to you! I love that the twins were getting a taste of the water ice.

Your kids are adorable as always. Can't believe the twins are one. Congrats on surviving that first year! :) You're amazing.
