Have I mentioned that J loves to do hard work? I think most children love the praise they receive, but J seems to love the process. We had snow last week, so he happily shoveled it into piles. Last Saturday he didn't have any complaints about building raised beds for our garden with D. And last night he loved dish duty after dinner. I'm almost worried about paying him for the work he does sometimes, because he doesn't yet seem to need an allowance as incentive to complete a task. Perhaps that day is coming, but for now I'll be thankful for his natural enthusiasm.

HE's so cute! I am in love with that picture. He is so grown now and you have taught him very well.
well, could you share with me your magical parenting skills? I seem to always have to bribe with a chocolate egg or something to get the kids to clean up! Every now and then Lewis surprises me and it isn't such an effort, but sometimes...I feel like I have to drag him kicking and screaming! He needs some tips from big J!
that is awesome!! yeah keep that up!!
My favorite thing about this picture (aside from his smile) are the mismatched gloves. Wish I were there to play in the snow with him (snow in March???? whaaaaat?)
that's so funny b/c Tyler seems to like working a little too much as well. his eyes seem to just glow when we tell him what a great job he's done-i'm assuming this won't last forever so i'm living it up now!
I love how all of our past prophets learned the value of hard work and many grew up on a farm. There is so much to learn from hunkering down and just DOING. These skills and talents he has will serve him well in everything he does and how great you are to recognize and encourage it! Our kids need more incentives than just plain hard work but a little humor goes a long way :)
I would expect nothing less of such wonderful parents!
Isn't it amazing how some kids just seem to be born with the helper gene? I have one niece just like that, the other however takes a bit more prodding to get things done.
He will grow up to be a great missionary! Two great parents as his example. God has surely blessed you with J.
