General Conference Weekend and Other Early April Happenings

We enjoyed listening to and watching our church's semi-annual General Conference via the Internet in our living room this weekend. I'm so grateful that we were able to attend with relative ease knowing how hard it is for other people across the world. Perhaps next year I'll be able to pay closer attention--D and I were forced to alternate between a zone and man-to-man defense in order to give each other a chance to listen to the counsel of our good leaders. I finally had to find humor in it, and this was my best shot at documenting what things were like. (Notice J to side ready to hurl that pillow at E who was lunging for the camera. A is perched on top of Daddy as she was for most of the broadcast.)
This year was the first that J seemed to be interested in the proceedings--he even sketched his own impression of President Thomas S. Monson.
In other news, the twins have officially made themselves at home in the backyard. This is a huge milestone in our home since most of us find therapy in occupying ourselves with hobbies outside. E is especially fond of the wiffle bat.
This just in--A is a walker! No holding this gal back. She loves her new toddling status.
And in other news we had fun making this April Fool's Day "dinner" for Daddy. I found the idea in this month's issue of Family Fun. (The "fish sticks" are really wafer cookies covered in peanut butter and corn flakes, and that ketchup is really strawberry jam in the little cup.) There was endless giggling as we prepared Daddy's plate before he arrived home from work.

Love the April Fool's joke. I can just see J running around the house, bouncing with excitement. Wish we could have spent conference together. We would have had a great time at mom & dad's house with all those kids.

Amelia is such a little doll. I can't believe she's already walking -- where has this last year gone? Tell Joshua I love his picture.

the april fool's joke sounds like fun, I can't believe A is walking...and that pic from Joshua is pretty impressive. yes, watching conference with kids is a task, I know I missed a lot of goodness, and will have to catch up on the IPOD.

Look at those HUGE smiles from your twins! And Joshua looks so proud as the big brother helping his sister. I love his drawing too. Family Fun has the best April Fool's ideas! I wish I had the energy to do something this year! We were too sick. Good job with those cookies! :)
