Good Fortune and Pink Cheeks

A very blurry photo of a near perfect winter afternoon at Ivy Creek. Sometimes I forget to adjust my settings.
It was our good fortune this weekend to have made so many memories. This will be remembered as the weekend that the Seahawks advanced to the Super Bowl, the weather went from very warm to very cold, and we convinced Staci to do something with us each day: bowling, pizza, the movies, ukulele jamming, hiking at Ivy Creek, and work in her woodshop. And that was just the action from Saturday to Monday.

Tuesday was a teacher workday, and so the kids and I settled in for a day at home de-cluttering and morning started off cold without snow, and J launched into creating his car for Saturday's pinewood derby.
By the late afternoon we had an inch or two of snow to keep us busy. More snow fell last night and school was cancelled, so we are home again.
They have been in and out all day. They come in to defrost, dry out, and snack. Then they are back out again to sled and throw snowballs and get pink cheeks again.  Until the end when they get to too cold to handle it, my kids are happy in the snow.

Fun!!! Pinewood derby cars and snow I mean...come on. That's pretty great right there. Wish we could come frolic in the snow with you!
